London postcodes (in America known as zip codes)
Definition:
London postcodes do not correspond with London districts, but do give you a clue to the geographical location of an address.
* E is for East
* S is for South
* SW is for South-West
* SE is for South-East
* W is for West
* WC is for West Central
* NW is for North-West
* N is for North
Unfortunately, the number after the first letter/s does not correspond to the distant from the center, as it does in most other cities. It refers to the position of the first letter of the district in the alphabet.
Full postcodes end with a digit and two letters, which specify the exact street , or end of a street.
This is a list of postcodes and the districts they relate to that you may come across on a trip to London.
